LISSE/AMERSFOORT, The Netherlands, April 2009 – TOSHIBA TEC Europe and Bovertis, the travel retail system integrators, today announced the delivery of a seamless integration between the two companies’ best-in-class offerings at the world-famous Keukenhof flower and plant garden in The Netherlands. This integration enables Keukenhof’s wholesale franchiser ‘World of Delights’ to improve the efficiency and quality of tourist attraction services through a single, integrated POS solution.

A seamless packaged integration is now provided to World of Delights through Bovertis’ secure high transaction speed software application Resolut and TOSHIBA TEC’s combination of an ST-A10 TouchPOS system and the eco-friendly double-sided TRST-A15 receipt printer.

TOSHIBA TEC’s Design Award-winning ST-A10 TouchPOS packs maximum connectivity, simplified cable management and an ultra-small footprint; Ultra-thin screen technology allows a picture-frame image for the cashier that includes well-lit screen edges for optimal use of the application. The TRST-A15 thermal printer produce high quality text, razor-sharp graphics and barcodes at top speed. Simultaneous printing on both sides of the receipt using the TRST-A15 printer reduces paper cost by up to 25% - a significant saving to the user, while the number of roll changes is only half that of similar single-sided printers.

Bovertis’ Resolut POS software has a proven reliability record in the international travel retail industry. The product makes use of the latest .NET technology and combines high performance and ease-of-use with an extensive list of functionalities. Weather permitting, Keukenhof attracts over 800,000 gardening enthusiasts in just two months time, of which 70 percent are international visitors to view a magnificent tapestry of tulips and other flowers.

Keukenhof leaves no stone unturned to ensure that the park dazzles the visitors with an extravaganza of colour in the two months that it is open. Each year, the layout is redesigned to present Keukenhof in a new light. The composition is carefully planned, so that visitors can enjoy flowering bulbs throughout the season. Roughly seven million bulbs are donated by around one hundred growers for the annual flower and plants display at Keukenhof, one of the image-defining attractions of The Netherlands.
