DUSSELDORF, February 2009 – RFID is the basis for the digital supply chain for METRO Group one of the most important international retailing companies. TOSHIBA TEC’s RFID-enabled label printers successfully operate in one of the world’s most comprehensive RFID programs at METRO Group.

METRO Group teamed up with TOSHIBA TEC to deliver the world’s most in-depth item-level pilot for a retail store environment at their Galeria Kaufhof department store in Essen, Germany. TOSHIBA TEC participates in the RFID item-level project with the high performance B-SA-4 desktop printer fitted with TOSHIBA TEC’s latest UHF RFID technology.

In another ground-breaking RFID program, METRO Group’s central cold storage warehouse delivers real-time inventory information with significantly improved efficiency. Here, METRO Group operates TOSHIBA TEC SX-5 RFID-enabled label printers at Germany’s largest cold storage warehouse.
